1. I cannot find Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access or Outlook?

Office 2016 for mac

These are NOT supplied with Mac OS but come with Microsoft Office which you need to buy and install seperately. For the iPad, it comes with its own version of Microsoft Office for tablet devices, available via the App Store. Alternatives include the iWork suite (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), LibreOffice, Open Office, Only Office.

There are now some online office products such as Office Live and Google Docs.

2. Does Mail come with a Spell Checker?

Yes, Mail has a spell checker built in. It wil automatically spell check text in a new message.

3. Which versions of Office work with Mac OS?

Microsoft Office 365 and 2016 and 2019 will work on latest versions of MacOS.

4. Does Mac OS come with any sort of Word Processor?

Yes, Mac OS has provided a program called TextEdit which is available in Applications. It doesn't have any of Word's advanced features, but ideal for short letters, documents and so on. It can open .rtf and .txt files and save as .rtf or .txt files which can be read by the majority of Word Processors available. A compatible Word Processor can be found in OpenOffice called OpenOffice Writer and Apple's Pages which can read/write Microsoft Word documents.

5. Does Mac OS come with any sort of Spreadsheet?

No, the nearest thing, is the Calculator which can do simple mathematical calculations for you.
A compatible Spreadsheet program can be found in OpenOffice called OpenOffice Calc or Apple's Numbers which can read/write Microsoft Excel documents.

6. Does Mac OS come with any sort of Database?

No, but OpenOffice comes with its own database program called OpenOffice Base. Also, there is See Tap Forms 5 or File Maker.

7. I have got an Office document but I cannot open or read it and I don`t have Office?

Claris or Apple Works and Word documents can be opened with most other Word Processing applications including LibreOffice and OpenOffice.
Project files can be viewed with the new Project Libre.

8. How can I create PDF files with Microsoft Office?

In Microsoft Office, select File, Save As, Computer, Browse and select the file type PDF (*.pdf).
If you are using a different application, use the Print as PDF feature in the Print dialog box.

9. Where can I find a Web Editor for Mac?

Try Komodo Edit, SeaMonkey, Visual Studio Code or Dreamweaver for web editing.
Visual Studio Code can be used to create .NET Framework Core and Web pages.

10. Does Mac OS come with any sort of Desktop Publisher?

No, There is Adobe Indesign, Quark XPress and cheaper alternatives including PageStream and Scribus.
