Linux Mint 22 MATE (zara) has the following new features:

Sticky notes with rounded corners, compatible with Wayland and new d-bus method to reload notes.
New login script with blur effects in the panel and dialog box and support for avatars.
Hypnotix supports Theater mode which hides the controls, and Borderles mode for full screen.
Fingwit app to support fingerprint authentication for screen saver, sudo command and admin apps.
Compabitlity with libAdwaita to work with themes such as Gnome-Calender, Simple-Scan and Baobab.
XDG Desktop portal XApp supports accent colors.
LibAdapta fork of libAdwaita for theme support for desktop and apps.
XApps improvements for XViewer, Thumbnaler WebApp Manager.
Artwork improvements for more blue rather than grey colours.
Software manager interface improved.
Linux kernel 6.14 and ubuntu Noble package base.
Security updates until 2029.
